Starting Fresh

Since I'm preparing for the publication of my first novel, I thought it was high time I updated this site. I'm going to be posting articles, advice, and quotations here that relate to my daily efforts to write and get published. I'll begin with a bit of humor, revolving around rejection letters.

Here's my favorite rejection letter of all time (it wasn't addressed to me...I just came across it somewhere):

Rejection Letter from a Chinese Magazine--

"We have read your manuscript with boundless delight. If we were to publish your paper, it would be impossible for us to publish any work of a lower standard. And as it is unthinkable that, in the next thousand years, we shall see its equal, we are, to our regret, compelled to return your divine composition, and to beg you a thousand times to overlook our shortsightedness and timidity."

Now that's a rejection I could swallow more easily. Leave it to the Chinese to be magnanimous even when turning you down.

This still makes me chuckle. They are so kind about it!

Which blog should I put as a link on mine? I see that Maryclaire has one that I'm not invited to read...is that your personal one?

You should probably put my author's site, since it's open to anyone and has a blog on it, at least for now: www.tanyaparkermills.com

As for our family site, just send me your email address and I'll invite you to it. I need your email address anyway.
